Otis Reservoir
is the largest unrestricted body of water in Massachusetts that offers
a variety of water sports, such as boating, sailing, water skiing
and wake boarding, canoeing and kayaking, fishing, and many other activities.
Tolland State Forest and Camp Overflow offer camping
and RV sites along the reservoir. Boat launching is offered at Tolland State Forest, J&D Marina, and Camp Overflow.
Here are the rules and regulations of the Reservoir so everyone
has a pleasant experience while visiting the area.
- Speed limit - Sunrise to Sunset 45 MPH - Dusk to Dawn 12 MPH
- No Toilets on any craft - Permanent or Portable.
- Anyone under the age of 16 must obtain a safety certificate from the State, otherwise be accompanied by a person 18 years of age or older to operate a motor boat.
- Max length for boats is 23 feet.
- No operation of ANY vessel while intoxicated
- Reasonable mufflers and fully enclosed engine compartments required
- Canoe and Kayaking - Life jackets mandatory from September 15th to May 15th
